our heart
"There's no escape. Your body's just bones and flesh, that's all. There are too many things beating at you, blowing at you, hurting you, leaving bruises."
-Checkers by John Marsden
And that's true. Our bodies aren't that strong, yet we can still survive. We live through earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, change, heartbreak, pain of death, all the trials and tribulations we call life. Yet we continue to thrive, to adapt to the changes in the environment around us, the situations we go through, the people we meet. We get hit by things all around, we can't guard against anything, because it strikes us everywhere, every single second of our lives. We keep getting bruised, but still we survive. I think it's called the human heart.
