JOYEUX NOEL!!!!!!
Went to my mum's friend's house for dinner, and up until 2 minutes til Christmas, I was feeling so UN-Christmassy. But as the countdown began, and everyone at the table started staring at their watches, I started to get excited. When my watch struck midnight, I suddenly thought, It's Christmas! Then everyone started cheering and toasting and wishing each other Merry Christmas, and with Feliz Navidad playing on the stereo, I realised ITS CHRISTMAS! and I got this happy warm feeling, knowing that Christmas is not really all about material stuff, not just about the presents we can buy for each other, but also the warmth, the caring, the sharing of good times with each other, with the people we care most about. The Christmas spirit came a little late this year, but it arrived nonetheless. In past years I used to be able to get the Christmas buzz from shopping and buying gifts, but I didn't have much time to do that this year, so it was all quite rushed. Maybe it was because of that, or maybe I've realised that Christmas isn't just all that. It's so much more than the gifts, the believing, although that does matter, but it's all about the love.. On the way home my sister and I were singing all the hymns I could think of, reminded me of school masses, and finally felt, like a proper Christmas.
