zouk
G and I are in such a bad mood now.

H will be in Singapore for 2 weeks only, and so far, we've only gotten to see her once. So we arranged to watch a movie tomorrow night, and have invited a few people, who also want to see her. However, she has decided all of a sudden, that her friends need her to pick them up, that they are unable to go to Zouk without her. Please, someone tell her friends that there is such a thing as PUBLIC TRANSPORT *all go OOOHHHHH together*. Bus? Taxi? Someone else's car? Her picking them up is not a necessity, it's a luxury that can and should be done without. If they can't get to Zouk without her, then what happens when she's in the UK? She flies back every Wednesday night to send them? And then she can fly back to UK for lessons the next day. How brilliant, I bet they wish they had thought of it themselves.

And yes, she thinks that Zouk is so much more important that she cannot sacrifice a few hours of her beloved Mambo time to spend with her friends. Like G says, it's not as if Zouk is going to grow legs and run away or close down overnight. Have friends been replaced by a weekly event? Is getting into Zouk free really worth sacrificing some time spent with friends even if it's just a movie? H says that there's no Zouk in UK, and the clubbing music is terrible. Peut-etre, but we aren't there in UK either. And she's not here with us most of the year, so is it so wrong to want to see her a few more times while she's here before school starts in less than a week?

Then, she complained about the movie time, that it was too late, and why did it end so late. Well, if I could do something about it, I probably would have. Does she think I'm in charge of the screening times at GV? Perhaps I should go marry the person who owns GV, then I can have whatever movie is showing at whatever time I want in the comfort of my own house. Well why not, isn't that a good idea. And perhaps she should marry the person who owns Zouk, then she can go in free every night. Isn't that a better idea.

Is Zouk really a life or death issue? Will spending maybe 1 hour less in Zouk shorten her life by 10 years? Actually, it will probably lengthen her life because she doesn't have to breathe in all the second-hand smoke, get stepped on, and fret about the crowd. When something happens, when she needs company, will Zouk be there to make her feel better? Can she count on Zouk to be her friend? Although I must admit, Zouk will always be there, Zouk will always be free to satisfy her clubbing desires, a role which we cannot fulfil. So, does that make us less worthy of her time, because we are not a club that has Ladies Night? Yes, you went out with us once. Oh joy. We are not worthy.

Look at me, you would never expect to see
Just me, someone so ordinary
But in my heart I'm floating above on the wings of a butterfly
Carrying my hopes and my desires
Scattering on earth the fairy dust dreams are made of
Not so ordinary girl
I'm part of the splendours of a beautiful world
